Amanda
Class of 2012

Amanda joined ABC of Wilton in 2008 as part of our very first class of girl scholars. She is from Brooklyn, NY and is now a Senior in the high school. Amanda's goal is to become an Neonatal Nurse or a Midwife. Amanda's favorite subject is physics. She has become the treasurer of the International Club and is a part of the Key Club. In addition to an older and younger sister, Amanda also has a younger brother. For six weeks over the summer, Amanda participated in a Summer Health Internship Program. Three days out of the week she volunteered at Wykcoff-Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. There she worked on the Med-Surg floor. On Wednesdays she went to Long Island University Brooklyn Campus to learn about many different professions in healthcare and she was able to meet many healthcare professionals and learn about their job description in the healthcare system. Also, Amanda is hoping to find a volunteer job at Norwalk Hospital throughout the school year.

Damaris
Class of 2012
Damaris joined ABC of Wilton in 2008 as part of our very first class of girls scholars. Damaris joined us from the Talented and Gifted School for Young Scholars in Spanish Harlem. Damaris loves Wilton High School as it offers smaller classes and students who are more focused on learning than in her previous schools. In addition to band, Damaris is a skilled dancer.

Onessa
Class of 2012

Onessa joined ABC of Wilton in 2008 as part of our very first class of girls scholars. Onessa is very active in her after school activities, having participated in the Wilton High School Swim Team, dance club and public speaking.

Hui
Class of 2013
Hui comes to ABC after graduating from Beacon Academy in Boston. Beacon was a small community of only nineteen students in the graduating class, and coming to a high school of about 1,400 students was a huge transition. Hui enjoys learning and playing the piano as well as the cello.  She is involved with and holds office in the International Club and Key Club.  She enjoys spending time with her host family and friends she has made in Wilton.

Selena is from the Bronx. Before coming to Wilton Selena participated in the Fieldston Enrichment Program. She likes to write and also enjoys math. Selena hopes to play basketball for Wilton H.S.

Sophie
Class of 2013
Sophie hails from Queens, where she has two younger brothers. Sophie is very excited to be back as a junior this year. Her summer was filled with children and leadership which are two of her favorite things. She returned to Camp Dudley at Kiniya as a Junior Counselor. and attended a nine-day leadership program based on the values of Eleanor Roosevelt called the Girls’ Leadership Workshop. Sophie is so excited to help raise more awareness and support for Operation Smile as Vice President and is still a faithful member of the Little Theater Club.

Class of 2013
Micah is from Manhattan, New York and has two parents and five siblings who are all supportive of him.  He is now a Junior and the leader of the ABC house along with O’londi Legrand.  He is looking forward to setting a good example for the younger guys in the house.  He is also looking forward to trying out for the wrestling team.

O'londi
Class of 2013
O'londi hails from Manhattan, where he lives with his mother, three younger sisters and a brother on the Upper West Side. O'Londi enjoys playing basketball, baseball and football. O'Londi loves animals and hopes to be a veterinarian. Over the past summer O’londi attended a NOLS trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming which he enjoyed very much. His favorite class this year is expository writing and he still has the same dream of becoming  a veterinarian. O’londi also enjoys spending time with his host family.

Jean Robert "JR"
Class of 2014
JR is from New London, Connecticut. He moved to the United States from Haiti when he was eight years old. He has four sisters and one brother. His favorite subjects are Math and Science, and his favorite sport is football. JR was very involved in the choir in his middle school where he was chosen to participate in the CT Eastern Region Music Festival. Last year JR did well in school. This year he plans on making High Honors at least twice. His favorite classes this year are Plane Geometry and Spanish IV. When he is older, he plans on being a reconstructive plastic surgeon working for a program like Operation Smile. JR is also very good with languages - speaking English fluently in less than a year, and teaching himself to speak Spanish. He participated in a NOLS backpacking trip in Idaho andMontana last summer.

Raphael
Class of 2014
Raphael was born in Ghana and moved to the United States 5 years ago. He currently lives in the Bronx, New York with his two parents, two sisters and one brother. He enjoys playing soccer and football.  Now a sophomore in the ABC program, he takes on a new leadership role in directing the new freshman ABC boys.  Raphael is strong academically and socially. His favorite subjects are math and science.  He wants to pursue a career as an astrophysicists and an astronaut when he grows older.

Jean Pierre "JP"
Class of 2014
JP is a sophomore in the ABC Wilton program. He moved from Jamaica 2.5 years ago and now resides in Harlem, New York with two brothers and both his parents.  JP is strong academically and loves the outdoors. He enjoys playing basketball and riding. His favorite subject in school is science and he wants to be an aerospace engineer when he gets older.

Class of 2015

Barry hails from Bronx, New York where he lives with his loving mother. He enjoys writing and playing sports like football, basketball and lacrosse. Barry is very outgoing and is adamant about his education. His favorite subjects in school are history and math. He aspires to pursue a career in sociology and engineering as a successful adult.

Rey is from Lawrence, Massachusetts where he lives with his two parents and his two younger brothers. He loves to write poetry and play sports like baseball, and football. His favorite subjects are math and science, and he aspires to become an architectural engineer when he is older.

Zourry
Class of 2015

Zourry is from Bronx, New York, where he lives with his mother. He enjoys bike riding and reading graphic novels. He also enjoys playing sports such as soccer and tennis. His favorite subjects are Western Civilization and Algebra. He also values keeping high grades. Zourry is currently partaking in International Club. He aspires to become a pilot when he is older.
